Grand Rounds Recap 7.27.22
Another great week of Grand Rounds kicked off by Dr. Lex Kimmel’s Morbidity and Mortality Conference touching on Ectopic Pregnancy, Finger Dislocation and DOAC overdose management. Dr. Goff presents a case follow up of a gastritis complication. Firearms are lethal, join Dr. Yates as she discusses how to prep yourself with the data to help our patients. Finally we get specialist lecturers discussing acute management of acute occlusive event management in sickle cell disease.
Grand Rounds Recap 05.27.20
This week Dr. Klaszky presented cases to help us improve our clinical care in the ED with our monthly Morbidity and Mortality conference. Drs. Hall, Modi, and Shaw taught us about marine, reptile, and arthropod envenomations with their R3 small group session. Finally, we were honored to (remotely) host the nationally renowned Dr. Megan Ranney, who gave us an eye-opening presentation on the overlap between gun violence, public health, and the role of emergency medicine.
Grand Rounds Recap 3.4.20
We had an outstanding week in Grand Rounds, led off by a visiting lecturer and UC EM Class of 2013, Dr. Renee Salas. Dr. Salas is currently Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical school and a Yerby Fellow at the Center for Climate, Health, and Global Environment. Her talk was entitled “Climate Crisis and Clinical Practice - Implications for Emergency Medicine.” Next, Dr. Baez presented a fascinating Ultrasound Grand Rounds with Ultrasound M&M. Drs. Frederick and Walsh led us through their new clinical pathway for Non-Pregnant Vaginal Bleeding in their QI/KT. Dr. Klaszky gave his R4 Clinical Capstone lecture on how to make effective presentations.
