Grand Rounds Recap 05.27.20
This week Dr. Klaszky presented cases to help us improve our clinical care in the ED with our monthly Morbidity and Mortality conference. Drs. Hall, Modi, and Shaw taught us about marine, reptile, and arthropod envenomations with their R3 small group session. Finally, we were honored to (remotely) host the nationally renowned Dr. Megan Ranney, who gave us an eye-opening presentation on the overlap between gun violence, public health, and the role of emergency medicine.
Grand Rounds Recap 6.19.19
This week we had our annual Disaster Day. We started with the legendary Dr. Otten giving us a rundown on disaster preparation and planning. Dr. Calhoun then led us through our disaster activation protocols at UCMC. We then used these principles in a complex mass casualty even simulation. The day ended with an analysis of how these protocols worked in real life during the Fifth Third Shooting.
Grand Rounds Recap 12.20.17
The final Grand Rounds of 2017 opened with Morbidity and Mortality led by Dr. Kari Gorder. Drs. Liebman, Banning, and Owens then shared exciting Global Health cases from their travels to Tanzania and Guatemala. Dr. Grace Lagasse gave her soapbox lecture on firearm violence and the Emergency Department. Finally, our dentistry colleagues Drs. McMahon and Dagher refreshed our techniques and skills in the management of dental trauma.
