Grand Rounds Recap 2.21.24
We started another fantastic day of grand rounds with morbidity and mortality conference led by Dr. Finney. Next, Dr. Snyder discussed mastering the arterial line, followed by Dr. Wosiski-Kuhn taking us through her R4 case follow up. We ended the day with a rousing CPC battle for the ages between Drs. Wilson and Curry.

Starting from an excellent, ultrasound-loving Morbidity and Mortality Conference with Dr. Walsh, we discuss end of life care in the ED as well as atypical agents for symptomatic relief with visiting professor Dr. Karen Jubanyik, identify and manage hernias of all types during Dr. Brower’s R1 Clinical Knowledge lecture and end with an inspiring talk on imposter phenomenon with Dr. Pulvino in her R4 Capstone.

Grand Rounds this week started with our Leadership Curriculum, focusing on both positive and negative attitudes of leaders. Next, Dr. Hughes gave her Taming the SRU follow up lecture on debriefing and fat embolism syndrome followed by Dr. Spigner’s R4 Case Follow Up Lecture on streptoococcal toxic shock syndrome. The week wrapped up with simulation and oral boards practice covering acute right heart failure and anterior uveitis.
