Grand Rounds Recap 9.28.22
This week we had a tour de force of education goodness. We started off with Dr. Mullen presenting Morbidity and Mortality Conference. This was followed with an updated DKA QI/KT protocol developed by Dr. Shaw and Dr. Glenn. More great faculty Core Content was brought by Dr. Irankunda elucidating high pressure injection injuries. We wrapped up the day with some research nuggets with Dr. Freiermuth.

This week Dr. Hughes took us through the months Morbidity and Mortality cases. Dr. Shaw taught us what he has learned from the television show Scrubs. We learned about nausea and vomiting in pregnancy from Dr. Ferreri and ended the day with a minor care themed R3 small groups.

This week in grand rounds we had an excellent discussion on leadership and how emergency medicine can impact the future of medicine by visiting lecturer, Dr. Andra Blomkalns current chair at Stanford University and UC alumni. Dr. Golden enlightened us on diabetes technology so we can better take care of our diabetic patients with insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
