While often alarming, neonatal resuscitation is critical in the care of a neonate. In the critical care transport environment preparations is crucial in optimizing resuscitation success. In this edition of Air Care Series, Dr. Irankunda walks us through neonatal resuscitation in the transport environment.
Grand Rounds Recap 11.8.17
This week, we started things off with a great Quarterly Sim led by our faculty. The oral boards cases, led by Drs Stettler and Roche, involved an acute presentation of holiday heart, a post-partum patient with flash pulmonary edema, and a very questionable spider bite. The simulation, led by Drs Fernandez, Hill and Stolz, focused on two patients that were in shock: one due to a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and one due to a pericardial tamponade. We then moved on to the pediatric side of things, where Dr. Gleimer discussed neonatal rashes, and we took a look at pediatric syncope with Dr. Fananapazir.
Grands Rounds Summary 01.25.2017
Dr. Betham started off Grand Rounds with this month's Morbidity and Mortality Conference, where we learned about Gout, ITP, Stroke, and Hyperkalemia in ESRD patients. Dr. Teuber walked us through the varying recommendations regarding ED Thoracotomy and Dr. Banning taught us how to handle neonatal urgencies. Leadership Curriculum wrapped up this week's conference with a session on how to pitch an idea.
